The Chai Cart in the summer of 2009. With a background in Marketing and a love of the food and flavors of her native India, Paawan decided to bring the authentic flavors of Chai, as she knows them, to the streets of the Mission.
Course offerings:

Art of Chai - An introduction to chai, its cultural roots and a cooking lesson on making chai from scratch - 3 different ways. Once you have the basics down, I will also show you how to play with different spices to make your own blend of masala chai.

Sprouts and Potato "chaat" - "Chaat" is common term used for Indian street foods. They are basically savory small plates that is often eaten in the afternoon/evening before dinner. They are many variants and in this class we will make a chaat with fried wheat chips, potatoes and green spouts smothered with yogurt and chutneys.
